  • PRSO attended the Expert Group Meeting on the Regional Implementation of the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action for Landlocked Developing Countries, Bangkok, Thailand
    PRSO was invited to the Expert Group Meeting on the Regional Implementation of the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action for Landlocked Developing Countries, 30 November 2016 Bangkok, Thailand, by the United Nations, Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (UNESCAP). Ehsan Shayegan, Director of PRSO attended this event, in which he talked about promoting regional integration and cooperation.unescape
    This event was organized as part of the 4th session, focused on land locked countries in the region and fostering regional integration and coherent and harmonizing regional policies that provide an opportunity to improve transit transport connectivity and ensure greater interregional trade, common regulatory policies, border agency cooperation and harmonizing customs procedures to deepen penetration in to regional markets. There was extra emphasis on regional integration and cooperation centered on south-south cooperation and triangular cooperation.
    PRSO is committed and puts further efforts to work with the UN agencies and any relevant global network of organizations.

    • PRSO Participation at URI National Assembly, November 17-19, 2016

      uri-national-assemblyAfter a year of establishment and conducting some research projects, PRSO finds itself not only committed to promote the culture of research-based policymaking in Afghanistan but also focuses on raising awareness, conduct community-based development programs and promoting peace and understanding among various different ethnic and religious identities. To this end, a few months back PRSO gained the membership of United Religious Initiatives (URI). URI stands for peace, harmony, and unity among different identities. URI is a network of various NGOs, groups from across the globe, working for the betterment of the society.
      Recently, PRSO was honored to be invited to attend URI national assembly, held in India. Our team apart from presenting PRSOs various activities which are in line with the objectives of URI at the assembly, interacted with various NGOs from all the South Asian countries and assured of its commitment to community development programs. PRSOs recent work on Ignored Identities; Status of Hindus and Sikhs in Afghanistan’s Legal System was recognized as a unique effort for the promotion of peace and harmony among different faiths in Afghanistan. We are committed to put much more effort and join our local initiatives and efforts with a global network of organizations who all stand for the same cause.
