About Us:
Porsesh Policy Research Institute (PR) is a highly driven, independent, non-profit policy research think tank based in Seattle, Washington. PR’s mission is to produce fact-based analyses that inform constructive interventions and solutions to issues affecting underrepresented and marginalized communities, including racial and religious minorities, immigrants, refugees, asylees, women, and LGBTQ+ individuals. PR deeply values impartiality, a community and human-centered design approach, as well as the vitality of contextualized knowledge in its studies.
Summary: 
PR is looking for a highly passionate, dedicated and creative thinker individual to join our young team as vice president. Vice president is a senior leadership level position expected to actively participates in day-to-day operations of the institution, supporting the executive team of the institute. Participate in resource mobilization, connecting and sustaining relationships with partners, donors, community and expert networks.
 Major Responsibilities: 
  • Collaborate with the leadership and executive team to ensure the day-to-day operations of PR are running smoothly.
  • Develop and implement fundraising ideas and events, including personal involvement in fundraising activities.
  • Inspire, mentor, and lead a diverse team of researchers, fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, policymakers, and partners to enhance the institute’s influence and impact.
  • Take a central role in fundraising efforts, collaborating closely with the development team to secure resources for research projects and initiatives.
  • Identify and pursue potential Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and opportunities for financial/resource mobilization.
  • Oversee compliance with finance, HR, and other administrative processes in accordance with state and federal laws.
  • Manage institutional resources and budgets, communicating the financial situation to the executive team to ensure alignment with organizational capacity.
  • Assist in preparing periodic reports for the board of directors.
  • Assist the president in communicating overall organizational performance to the board of directors.
  • Provide support as needed in recruitment for various positions.
  • Foster collaboration with various units within the organization through regular communication.
  • Perform any other relevant tasks as required.
 Qualifications:
  • Proven leadership experience, preferably in a policy research, information or nonprofit setting.
  • Strong work ethic, strategic thinking, and the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated passion for social justice and the role of information in driving positive change.
  • Ability to navigate and excel in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Position: Outreach Officer
Organization: PORSESH POLICY RESEARCH INSTITUTE (PR)
Payment: Fully volunteer
Duration: 3 Months – March 20th– June 20th (Open for longer commitment & Potential for funding in the future)
Time commitment: 2-3 hours/day
Location: Remote (rare in person event/teamwork)
Deadline: Open until filled with the priority deadline March 18, 2024

Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated volunteer interested in outreach and content promotion to join our team at PR. The ideal candidate should have a passion for data, along with some experience in social media management, strong writing skills, and a knack for content promotion. 
Project Details: 
Despite our numerous projects, we have not effectively utilized our social media platforms to promote our works using the report from 6 research reports. We need someone to sift through our research findings and create engaging social media content in various formats, including text, visuals, and videos for our social media channels. Additionally, we have been tasked with promoting our studies on the UN SDGs website and require assistance in generating visuals for this platform following these easy steps. 
Major Responsibilities:
  • Reading through 6-7 research report & identifying some major highlights for promotion
  • Creating data rich promotional content (text, visualization, and video) for social media out of these published research works.
  • Posting them on social media channels and responding to any specific question
  • Creating some data driven stories on UN SDG website
  • Overseeing our social media presence
  • Promotion PR’s relevant event on PR’s social media
  • Serve as an outreach officer for PR in virtual or in-person stakeholder meetings, if needed.
  • Participate in select staff meetings and provide support to the team with communication and outreach tasks when needed.
  • Complete a brief onboarding process consisting of educational materials.
Deliverables:
  • Promotional content in various formats (video, visualized graph and text) depends on the nature of project and creativity of the volunteer.
  • Short Data Driven stories (3-4) using the graphs/ content of our published research reports.
Desired Skill:
The candidate must be a research and data enthusiast.
  • Familiar with research and creating useful content for further dissemination of the major findings.
